About

CHUNYOU was founded in Chengdu in 2013.

In the beginning, it was simply a gathering of friends in spring. We built a few simple stages, invited bands and DJs we loved, and friends brought more friends. No one really knew what it would become.

Over the years, CHUNYOU gradually grew. More stages appeared, and more people began to come. Music, art, food, drinks, trees, the lakeside, tents, and all the things that were never part of the schedule slowly became CHUNYOU as we know it today.

But one thing has never really changed.

We still want CHUNYOU to be, first of all, a place for people to meet.

To see friends, meet strangers, lie in the sun, listen to music, waste a little time, and spend two days together in spring.

Organizer

Morning Chengdu /

Morning Chengdu began in Chengdu in 2009.

Before CHUNYOU existed, we were already organizing live shows, parties, and different kinds of music projects. There was rarely a perfect plan. Most of the time, we simply loved certain music and wanted to make space for those sounds to happen in Chengdu.

CHUNYOU slowly grew out of those relationships.

Today, Morning Chengdu remains the organizer of CHUNYOU. But rather than thinking of it as a conventional events company, we see it as a platform for bringing people together, organizing things, and allowing new ideas to happen.

Network

CHUNYOU has never been made by one person.

Since 2013, more and more musicians, artists, friends, spaces, labels, organizers, brands, and participants have become part of it. Some people first came as audience members, then became friends, and eventually collaborators.

Some relationships lasted for only one moment. Others have continued for many years.

For us, these relationships are an important part of what CHUNYOU is.

CHUNYOU is not only the people standing on the stages. It is also everyone who has helped make it happen, taken part in it, or simply spent a weekend here with us.
